soooooooooooooo had a mad weekend in sheffield!!! got there at about midnight on friday, ended up getting off the train at this Station called Dore, as it was on the way and half an hour drive nearer to my sisters house. so i arrived there, got fed and went to bed in a lovely huge comfy kingsize bed :o)
i had a nice lie in in the morning, cos alison didnt have the heart to wake me up till 11am. i was cooked scrambiled eggs on a bagel before we hit the shops of sheffield. Alison is getting married in july so we went to the Clinique counter in boots to get her makeuop done. the woman did a lovely job and alison spent the debt of a small country on make up and cleansing products, but it is lovely stuff!.
we then looked around for aaaaaaaages for some shoes for me to wear for the wedding (i'm the bridesmaid) and after looking for ages we ended up getting some shoes from BHS that alison had bought me months ago, but she had got a different size. they're not the sort of thing i'd usually wear but theyre perfect for the wedding, theyre lilac (to match my dress) with a bit of a heel, slinbacks and a pointy toe. i can walk in them ok, thank god.
after that we went back to my sisters house for some tea before hitting the town. we first went to a pub called Bah Hah (i think), which was a bit posh and i felt a little underdressed in my jeans. but it was ok i guess. after that a massive group of us went to this bar called Cubana, which was a cuban themed bar. the drinks were reasonably priced and we salsa-ed the night away!!! we went home about 12.30 as alison was driving and she was knackered.
on sunday alison had to move loads of junk from the garden into a van which they were sharing with their neighbours. thy used to have massive overgrown trees in the back garden, which blocked out all the light an made it look very closed it. over a couple of months they've hacked the offending trees down and now the garden looks much better.
after that we went next door for sunday lunch. her next door neighbours are a really nice couple, about the same age, who have 2 sons. i usually dont like boys but theyre lovely, really sweet kids. after lunch, alison, her fiance and the kids dad went out to B and Q for a bit to gets some bits for the garden whilst they had the van, and i stayed with the kids mm and played with the boys, which was cool.
after that we went back to the house, i gathered my stuff up, got fed again and watched tv. i got the train back round 7pm on sunday, had a nice 10 mins waiting at the train station, in the middle of nowhere, watching rabbits bounce around. i had a lovely weekend, it made a lovely break from the usual 214/7. i'll definitley be going up there again :o)
