i'm in sheffield now, drinking wkd and then tia maria and coke, whilst compiling a compilation cd for background music. took me aaaages to get here, was a nightmare. as my sister was having her nails done she couldnt pick me up. so she gave me instructions about how to get to the right bus stop and which bus to get. but these were totally inaccurate and took me ages to find the right place after calling my sister. so anyway, i find the bus stop and wait for an hour for the right bus, which never comes. so we decide that i'll get a taxi and my sister will pay for it. so i grab a black cab, which then gets lost and takes twice as long to get to my sisters than it should, but at least the guy stopped the clock so it didnt cost a fortune!!! so in the end it took me 2 hours from the moment i got to sheffield to get to my sisters!!! but she had a lager waiting for me when i arrived :o)
since then we've pottered aroundn had a lovely tea, watched tv, made ribbons for the wedding cakes and chatted. the wedding cake has 3 tiers - smallest one fruit, medium one chocolate, big one sponge, all covered in white icing, and they'll be placed on a tiered stand as the lower layers couldnt support the upper ones cos the sponge would sink. we made the ribbons from off cuts from the wedding dress material (which is very pale lilac brocade).
my folks arrive tomorrow, not quite sure what the plan is, i guess i'll find out :o)
