Went out to a lovely Japanese restaurant last night for lexys birthday called Sapporo Tepanyaki. Its a new place on Duke street. I'd never been to a japanese restaurant before so i didnt really know what to expect. It was an amazing night. We all sat round this hot griddle plate type thing whilst this nutty Japanese chef cooked our food for us.
The guy was amazing, like a japanese version of Tom Cruise. He did tricks like throwing the salt and pepper round and chopping at amazing speeds in front of us. He also nearly burnt out eyebrows off when he poured some oil on the plate. It was amazing to watch, very entertaining!!!
The food was delicious, we all chose a set menu which had a starter, main course and desert, which came to about £25 and was well worth it. To start we had a vegetable soup which was kinda thin and clear but tasted lovely, and a salad with some homemade thousand island dressing on, which was sooooooo nice. For main course we had stir fry type veg, scallop potatoes and i had duck, which was amazingly gorgeous.
All of this was cooked infront of us which made us all drewl. Other people had steak or chicken, both of which were lovely. Some people had sushi which looked lovely too. For desert we had vanilla and chocolate ice cream which was lush.
Even the toilets were something else!! they had cotton balls, cotton buds, tampons and panty liners inn a bowl by the sinks, and handwash, moisturising cream and hairspray for customers to use too!!! And there were candles in the toilet too :o) it was all sooooooooo nice!!
It was a lovely evening, i really nice change to go somewhere different too! I thin its gonna be the regular place used to celebrate birthdays and occasions like that. Lexy and Phil are even thinking of asking if they do wedding receptions!!! It really was a top night, lovely food, excellent service, and very entertaining too.
I'm off this weekend!! yes, both days!!!! what a novelty!! i was supposed to be off friday and saturday but now i'm coming in on friday and having sunday off instead :o) yaaaaaaay for me!!!
