had my first day at telewest today. i was supposed to be there at 9am but as i was being cautious about public transport, i was in town for 8am. so i went to caffe nero on whitechapel/sir thomas street and had a large caffe mocha which was divine. whilst i was sat there waiting for time to pass a girl came in and chatted to her friend who worked there. i eavesdropped (as you do when you're bored and nosey like i was) and thought i heard her saying that she was starting telewest too but i wasnt sure.

so after i gave up eavesdropping i wandered down to the albert dock, via chavasse park. bloody hell that place was in a mess after the beatles festival! there was loads of rubbish strewn all over the field, but there was loads of people clearing it up too. so anyways, after a while i got to the albert dock, found the telewest building and signed in and waited to be collected by the trainer which the other people that had arrived. after a little while the girl i had seen in the cafe arrived so i was right! i think her name is Sue but i cant totally remember!

anyways, the day there was pretty good, it was basically an introduction to the company, each other, and the week course we have to do before starting the job properly. everyone seems really nice and easy to get on with and the atmosphere was great too. i know its gonna be hard work doing all this training cos theres so much to learn but you really feel like people believe in you and want you to do you best!

the day finished early, at 4.30ish instead of 5.30 so i had a quick mooch round town, continuing my quest for shoes without success, then got the bus home. i'm quite tired cos there was loads to take in today, but it was fun as well!

still need some shoes..... saw some nice chunky new rock and bunker boots and shoes in schuh but theres all dead expensive so they're gonna have to wait!
