hhnngggh i'm in work, on a saturday, with an over hang, i did a shift swap cos i needed a day off earlier in the week and my mate wanted today off, as you would. but nevermind eh? no one on my team is in so i'm sat all alone and i can do what i want as long as i pretend to work at the same time!
went to see lightyear last night at the masque theatre. joolia was supposed to come but she was very poorly with a very sore back so she couldnt.. hope you feel better soon hunny xxx davey p was supposed to come too but he couldnt cos he got no cash. so it was just me, lee and his housemate gaz. we started with a few pints in the swan before heading to the masque
when we got there we were stunned to find it was £7 to get in!! i expected it to be about £4!! but we paid and made our way inside. the gig was in the theatre at the back, its a strange place, but a very good gig venue.
we missed the first band, and the next 2 were ok, kinda emo punk stuff, all very good but nothing original, nothing to seperate them from the many "good" bands around. then, after an what seemed ages, it was time for lightyear.
the first song they played was an old song i knew, and a great start to the gig. from the beginning of the gig they showed so much energy, personality and individuality :o) theyre a great ska band who use trumpets and sax's, their songs are fast, full of energy and just plain fab!! me and julia saw them last year sometime and they were amazing then too. i enjoyed the gig sooooooo muc. i did some skanking at the front and also on stage too :o) i also bought their new album for only £8!!!
we ended up going to the Krazy House (no suprises there then) after the masque. we got there at 11ish and it was soooooooo quiet!! it got busier tho. wasnt one of the best nights. we were all knackered and not in a particularly energetic party kinda mood, so we ended up going home round 1ish, after going for a kebab - yummy!!!
felt a little rough this morning but i'm feeling ok now. going over to lee's tonight to watch Amelie at long last. its apparently a fantastic film, by all accounts. been dying to see it for aaaaaaaages.
i've prolly posted this before, i was listening to this song in bed last night:
Rock Steady - No Doubt
Our love is rock steady
Rock steady, rock steady, rock steady
Our love is rock steady
Rock steady
Love is like a punishment
Homegirl here to represent
So innocently you seem to come my way
While tinkerbell and cupid play
They sit there and they laugh
I sit here and i can't believe my eyes
You found me at last
But we're too human to see the way we'll agonize
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
Rock steady, rock steady
Our love is so rock steady
Rock Steady
Steady now stop rocking it
It's a delicate environment
Retired but sleeping is our shanty love
Be careful now, don't wake it up
It's never gonna last
It's never gonna make it back alive
So now can we relax?
I really hope that we will actually survive
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
It's never gonna last
It's never gonna make it back alive
So now can we relax?
I really hope that we will actually survive
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
A real love survives
A rock steady vibe
Rock steady
Our love is so rock steady
Rock steady, rock steady
