had a busy week. went to see secondnature on thursday night which absolutley brilliant. the boys have really polished their "act" now and are even more amazing than before to watch. they have a new way of opening their set, which i wont go into, which realy psyches them and the crowd up and makes all the difference!! they played really well and kept going even when dave fell off the stage!!! seriously tho, a lot of bands wouldve stopped when something like that happened, but they kept going and it just goes to show how professional theyve become, without sacrificing their individual personalities. i'm more convinced than ever that with the way theyre going, theyre gonna go far.
i was off on friday, got cable and a phone line installed so i have the net again :o) the installation went much better than i expected as i didnt actually realise my flat was already wired for cable, which was nice. considering i'm in the attic flat it wouldve been one hell of a job!!!
went to see the lovely lexy on friday night, who is very well, although plagued with morning sickness. i arrived armed with a copy of Baldurs Gate, Dark Alliance 2 for us to play, which we did for hours. its such an amazing game. similar to its predecessor in all the right ways but with some ncie new features which make it even better!!!!

The first game was good, but the second is better! There are more charcters, 5, more acts, 4, and more than 80 levels! Even the classes of adventurer ave been modified and the game goes even deeper into individualizing the different characters. There are a few more spells and the weapons are uch cooler than in the first game. A great thing is that now you can make your own weapons by collecting raw materials like woods, metals and even jewels, Final Fantasy style!
so yeah, its good, very fucking good!!!!!
on saturday i went to the laundrette for the first time, as my kitchen is too small for a washing machine. that was pretty uneventful and easy, which was nice. later on meester snarlie came over for a bit before we met joolia and jon and laydee k in town for a couple before going to see Spunge. the rain was fucking terrible so we got a cab from hardman street to the old L2, now called the carling academy.
the support bands sounded ok but we were too busy getting serious amounts of alcohol down us at that point. spunge were ace, really energetic and fun on stage, and theyre a brilliant live band too, which is the most important thing to me. if you cant play good live then dont bother playing at all as far as i'm concerned!! i only know one of spunge's albums so i didnt know everything they played, but it was nice to sing along to the ones i did know :o) i also got a nice tshirt which was a decent price and look really good quality too.
after that we dropped laydee k off at her bus stop as the poor hunny had work in the morning, slagged off some scallies with no coats and matching scally skirt/belt uniforms, and then went up to the KH allnighter. me and joolia kept losing jon and lee cos it was pretty busy, although not that bad considering it was an allnighter. we found tony and gave his arse a good slap and were told for ages how lovely we both were (yer buggers). and i plied joolia with aftershock and we kept popping onto the dancefloor to have a good mosh/air guitar/skank/headbang etc. it was a cool night. i think we left about 3am but i cant really remember to be honest.
didnt feel too bad on sunday, just knackered and achey so i didnt do very much, well, anything at all apart from veg out and play baldurs gate. i was on the late shift this morning in work, starting at 12, which wasnt too bad but it did lag like pavorotti at a buffet table after the first couple of hours. my team were asked to come in later today cos thats when they needed people most but were on 10-6 for the rest of the week. i'm doing a couple of hours overtime as well - cha ching!!! doing an hour extra tomorrow and thursday.
got a pretty quiet week this week i think. prolly meeting up with my former flatmate on wednesday for a couple of drinks and to catch up. its bizarre that i havent seen her in 2 weeks!!! i might have some people, a select few, over on saturday night for some drinkies, valentines day permitting and stuff. we shall see.
anyhoo, i'm off, time for bed. i'll try and update more often again, if anyone cares ;o)
