i had an amazing time in newcastle, it was lovely to see diane again after 7 years!!!!!! we still get on like best friends, which was quite a relief as its been so long. we talked non stop all weekend and had a proper catch up. its lovely to see her so happy with her husband, who is lovely and totally deserves her, which is the biggest compliment coming from me.
on friday after diane met me from the train we went back to hers, had coffee and a chat and then made tea before getting ready to go out. friday night was our rock type night out which was cool. the rock pubs are a bit crappy bu we ended up in a club called cuba cuba which was brilliant, and we were all very drunk indeed.
on saturday morning we quickly had to shake off our hangovers as diane had an appointment at the beauticians to have her eyebrows waxed. not completley waxed off you understand, just kinda tidied up. i decided to get mine done too so now i have perfect eyebrows. after that we sat off in the sunshine for a while to let the redness subside and then went shopping. there are some brilliant shops in newcastle but everything is really spread out which meant a lot of walking. later in the afternoon we met up with dianes sister claire for coffee as i also met her on holiday with diane.
after that we went back to dianes, had a disco nap, then made tea before going out. saturday night was the more trendy night out, but not to scally levels. we headed for the quayside. after i had got myself tipsy the cheesey music wasnt painful anymore and we had a great time going to about 10 different pubs all over the place.
the night didnt end too nicely as when we were waiting for a taxi in a queue outside St James Park there was a fight. some nobhead started on another guy who was backing away only to get punched in the face. he then fell over and hit the road head first. we then had to witness the horrible sight of blood pouring from his head onto the road. thankfully people got on their mobiles straight away and the police and ambulance turned up within 5 minutes. the coward who hit the guy had gone by then but the paramedics attended to the injured guy really quickly and took him away. when he left he still seemed to be conscious, which put our minds at rest a bit althought we were all a bit shaken.
when we got back to dianes house we had all sobered up very quickly as you can imagine, had a cuppa and then went to bed. after a nice lie in on sunday we watched t4 in our pj's before getting up and then having a lovely sunday lunch. diane and her husband darren then took me to the station and we had a teary goodbye before my train left.
diane and darren are hopefully going to be coming to visit me later in the year so this is an advance warning to you all that we will be going out and showing them a good time, scouse style. diane went to the KH last time she came down, 7 years ago, and cant wait to go again, so thats what we'll be doing.
its great to see mr snarlie moved into his new place and getting himself settled. its still a bit bizarre him being so close, but in a good way. this week he has knocked at mine on the way past to get the bus to work and its all still a bit surreal but lovely to have his company at the same time.
we went to see kill bill volume 2 tonight at fact. it was totally amazing!! quite different to volume one but maybe even a bit better. i bought myself kill bill volume 1 on dvd with my birthday vouchers and i'll definitely be buying volume 2 when it comes out :o)
going for a drink tomorrow night with skip, lee and laydee k. i havent seen skip and laydee k in what seems like forever so it'll be lovely to catch up and have a good gossip as per usual :o)
oooh almost forgot, the student loan thing is almost sorted now. got the deferment papers through and i have the 3 months payslips they need as evidence. apparently to have had to pay the amount they charged me i should be earning double what i am now, nice of them to check eh? so anyway the bank cancelled the direct debit for me and somehow they managed to claim the money back from the bastard student loans company and have credited it to my account!! i love my bank at the moment as i'm sure you can understand :o)
anyhoo, bedtime now, work in 7.5 hours xxxxx
