had a pretty good weekend this weekend. hung out with lee in the afternoon on saturday. then in the evening i went and met up with Julia, Mike, Tom, Gemma, Sef, Al, Skip, Lee, Debs and Michelle for Mikes birthday night out. We started in the Flute, drank a shed load of funny colour cocktails and then headed to the swan for one before going to the KH for a boogie.
had an excellent night, loads of silly dancing and putting the world to rights with debs at the end of the night :)
on sunday I did very little until the evening when i took my mum out for a mothers day meal in Marantos on lark lane, which was very yummy indeed.

was chatting to mr ste (formerly known as chod) earlier and he reminded me that I havent blogged in ages, over 2 months now i've actually checked!!
soooooooo whats been happening lately, hmm everything and nothing, as per usual.
went to see My Ruin twice in january, I really like my ruin, and over the past couple of years I have got to know them on a personal level. Anyway, the gigs were fantastic, some of the best gigs I have ever been to, and heres some of the photos I took:
really pleased with the photos i took, and theyre being used by the band too. I got in free the gigs and had press passes for them as well, which really helped.

I thought I'd write a separate blog about new years eve cos lets face it, Skippy deserves a post of her own :)
So last night me, Lee, Skippy and Al met on the bus to town and headed off. Al stayed on the bus to go and check that the room was sorted and me, Lee and Skippy went off in search of a couple of pints.
We headed to the swan first but unfortunately it was closed and only people with tickets were allowed in. As we were only stopping off for a couple of pints there was no point paying for tickets so we went to the Jacaranda. It was pretty busy in there and was standing room only, so after a pint we wandered down to secondnatures practice room for a new years eve/ Skippy's birthday party.
The party was a lot of fun, in attendance in addition to those i have already mentioned was Sef, Mike Marr, Pete, Julia, Mike, Tom, Gemma, Nichola, Motti, Dave, Hannah, a few of their friends, Mark, Danny, Gary, Zoe, and probably loads of others I've forgotten. After a short time the party got quite lively, with music played over the PA, a buffet, dance-offs, lots of drinks and shots, and general fun stuff.
Before we even got to new year Sef fell asleep on the couch and mike had to be dragged to the toilet by Julia to give it a hug for a long time, and then spent the rest of the night in a very bad way due to over indulgence of booze. I'm not judging or criticizing anyone about this, and it has often been me in this kind of state before now, but not this time.
Just before midnight we all headed out onto the street to sing auld lang syne and then happy birthday to Skippy. There was lots of cheering, hugging and kissing before we headed back inside. Once inside it was time to give Skippy her presents. Motti and Nichola got her a very cool Moodbeam, I have once and they're cool. Then she got her present from me, lee, tom, Gemma, Julia, mike and Gary. We got her a Nabaztag which she was very very happy with. I think I might have to get one, they're very cool.
Anyway after a couple more hours partying and boozing, the party started to get a bit thin on the ground so me and Lee decided to head off and pay a visit to the party at Andy's house where Colin, Julie, Michelle, Debs, Andy, Caz, Lisa and Paul were still partying along with various random family and friends.
When i arrived at the party I could tell it was very much still going on. When I arrived I felt very sober compared to everyone else but I didn't feel like drinking anymore due to general tiredness and an evil headache. It was an interesting party thats for sure, lots of interesting characters were there and a lot of fun was had.
I had a really good night, especially being able to wish Skippy a happy birthday at midnight as I haven't been able to do that for a few years and usually we just speak to each other on the phone at midnight in very drunken shouty voices :)

So I've been sat here for a while trying to think of something interesting to write. I kept thinking that i've done nothing worth writing about, but then it all came back to me.
2007 has been a year of ups and downs for me. I started 2007 in a job I hated and subsequently got fired from. Shortly after that I got my lovely kitty Lola. I always wanted a black cat called Lola and things just came together at the right time. I could settle her in as I was off work and show her who's boss, honest.
After a couple of months of unemployment I got myself another job which I enjoyed at the time. I hate being unemployed so at that stage I was getting desperate but thankfully I didnt have to settle for any old job, I got a decent job in town.
Over summer me, lee, michelle, dave, debs, lisa and paul all went to Leeds festival. Its been many years since I went to a proper festival and I had a really good time. I saw some bands I really like including fall out boy, the gossip, gogol bordello , nine inch nails, smashing pumpkins and red hot chilli peppers. I know the line up wasnt to everyones liking but I thought it was pretty good and I didnt have to choose between bands too often.
I had a great time with my friends at the festival, I had fun with everyone but spent most of the time with Debs, the purple pixie, a name that I gave her after her crazy mischevious behaviour at the festival. I was already friends with everyone I went to leeds with, but we all got to know each other better during our time there and we had some amazing times which I will never forget.
In october I got fired again, which was poo, but then got myself another job, working for the nhs doing admin about 6 weeks later. I've only been there a few weeks really and so far I'm enjoying it. The work is easy, theres no idiots on the phone to you constantly, and everyone is really nice. At the moment its only temporary till the end of march but it might get extended. It it doesnt then I'm wth a very good agency who will get me another job straight away.
Back in april, me, skippy and michelle started a photography course, city and guilds level one, at liverpool community college. That lasted a term and we enjoyed it a great deal, all passing with flying colours. Even before the course had finished we had all decided that we wanted to do level 2 next, which we started in september, and lasts for the academic year. Its more advanced and therefore more interesting than the level one course and we're all enjoying it.
Towards the end of the year two very good friends of mine came back to liverpool. Firstly Kalina moved back from Scarborough, and Rhonda came back from nearly a year in austrailia. I love both these ladies so much and I'm so glad that we've become such close friends.
So thats a brief summary of last year. Next year, in May, I have two weddings to look forward to. Tom and Gemma, and Craig and Caroline are getting married within about 5 days of each other. I know they will both be very lovely, enjoyable days.
I have some resolutions for this year, mostly they are quite personal and I'm going to keep them to myself. This year will hopefully see a lot of positive change for me and lots of fun adventures to write about in a year!!
Finally thanks to all the friends that have helped me through some tough times this year. If i list you all I'm bound to miss someone out, so you know who you are, and without your friendships this year would have been much more difficult.
Heres to a brilliant 2008!!!!

It's been quite a quiet Christmas this year. on Christmas day I cooked a lovely dinner for kalina and me. We had butter basted turkey, Mediterranean vegetables and roast potatoes> For pudding we had mince pies and luxury Christmas pudding with extra thick cream with cognac and brandy in. It was very yummy indeed. After lunch we had lots of booze and watched tv and Lee came and joined us later on.
I got a new PC from my mum and dad for Christmas. My dad has been to college to learn how to make PC's so i asked him to do me one. Its so much better than my last PC. This one is a dual core pc, with a lot more memory and hard drive space than my old one.
I got some other lovely presents, kali and her friend paul got me a framed Gwen Stefani single and autograph, lee got me a gorgeous Emily strange bag and some other bits.
For some reason my auntie got me a wind up torch. I mean seriously what the fuck!!! i have no use for a torch, never mind a wind up one. I think shes losing the plot.
I didn't get the one thing i wanted for Christmas but I'm hoping I'll have it by my birthday, I doubt it tho.

This week I went back to work, got my own office out of the way from everyone else, and actually had some work to do!! I had to type letters, print stuff out, put things in envelopes, and do filing! It was such hard work, not!!!
I'm off work till the 2nd January now. Went to my parents yesterday and got my present from them. My dad built me a new super fast PC as mine was on its last legs. Its a really great PC, just getting everything how I want it at the moment. My dad put my old hard drive in for me along with the new one so I didn't have to faff around transferring the 30gb of music I have, and all the photos I have as well.
Anyhoo I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas, I hope you get all you wish for and more. And all the best for the new year xxx

So, I've had a reasonably quiet weekend. went out with Kali on Friday night to the swan and KH and ended up carrying her home again lol. It was a quiet but fun night, later on we were joined by Skip and Al and Dave Price for a bit, which was cool. On Saturday me and Kali just monged in mine all day, watched tv in the evening and that's about it.
today me, Kali, lee and Michelle went to the swan to watch the Liverpool game. it was very very disappointing indeed. i like watching matches in the swan, the atmosphere is better there than anywhere else in my opinion. it wasn't too busy today either and we got a good seat easily.
so its back to work tomorrow, but its only 5 days and then I'm off for Christmas, and all being well I wont be back in till 2nd January!! Still got presents to buy but hopefully that'll be all sorted soon.

I didn't go back to work today after all, had no sleep as every time I dropped off I woke myself up coughing lots and then couldn't get back to sleep afterwatds. Gonna get lots of rest today and keep warm.
December 13, 2007
I think i might go back to work tomorrow. One of the ladies i work with (not my actual boss) told me to stay off till Monday rather than just come in for one day when there's nothing for me to do when i spoke to her this morning, but there's some kind of Christmas fair on tomorrow, which could be interesting if nothing else.
I dunno, I guess I'll see how i feel in the morning as recently that's when I feel like I've been hit by a truck.
Watched Kalinas Slipknot DVD this evening. I've seen them live and I think they're one of those bands you don't really "get" till you've seen them live. The DVD was pretty fucking good i have to say.
Then, for a complete contrast, we watched Finding Nemo as Kali has never seen it! Such a cutesy funny film!!!
Anyhow, off to bed methinks, I shall blog soon if anyone is actually taking notice of this.

so i've been thinking about blogging again, its been a while but i've been reading a few blogs lately and I've realised that i've missed a good blogging session.
sooo what have i been up to recently? well everything and nothing.
my mate kalina moved into the flat below mine a few months back and since then its been a lot of drinking and going out with general madness and silliness involved, which is all good.
lost a job a couple of months back, was on the dole which i hate, and then got another job. I'm doing admin for an nhs hospital. Its been very boring so far as my boss is off sick with chicken pox, so theres been no one to give me any work to do really. Now doing nothing and getting paid for it is good for a short time but after a while it gets very tedious and starts to drive me mad!! Especially as most of the good time wasting sites on the internet are blocked. But anyway, it should get more interesting soon, but at the end of the day its better than being on the dole.
Looking forward to christmas this year. This year I'm not spending it with my family, i'm spending it with my friends so it will be lots of fun. Before that is christmas night out with all my friends which is always good fun. I'm getting a new pc for xmas as this one is on its last legs now, its about 8 years old and has needed upgrading for a long time.
Hmm i wonder if anyone will actually read this who used to read my blog. Well if you do then leave me a comment to let me know its worth bothering to blog here again.
much love

havent been here in a while, had a bit of a busy time lately. been taking lots of photos of bands, most recently Sikth, Exit 10 and Idiot Rate at the barfly. took loads and loads of photos, which are on my Flickr page. me and lee also interviewd one of the guitarists before the gig, which was great. he was a really interesting guy with loads to say, all of which made a lot of sense.
thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate my birthday. firstly with a gathering in the swan on the day itself. lee and skip got me a brilliant rucksack camera bag for when i get my good camera, which is really cool. they also got me some silver bangles which are lovely. kayte got me a lovely little silver star pendant. the swan quiz was on that night and unfortunately we didnt win it as we had done for 2 weeks previously. it was fun tho and we got to share in the winners bottle of vodka. a few of us went to the KH afterwards but i remember very little of it!
saturday night started in skippys with pizza and wine, and then me and skip got ready. i wore a gorgeous Cheongsam, a chinese dress, in black with red flowers embroidered all over. i wore 5 inch platform boots too which made me extremely tall, but were surprisingly easy to walk in.
we started in roadkill on hope street, had a few drinks there, and opened a couple more pressies. tom and gemma got me a Lenore book, which is really sweet, and mike and julia got me a big living dead doll, which i've always wanted (i can see a collection coming on).
after roadkill we headed to the swan and joined Debs's birthday group there and more drink was had and lots of laughs. we then went to the KH where we, ok i, danced the night away and had a brilliant night. had loads of people i didnt know in person coming to say hello to me and wish me a happy birthday as they had seen it on myspace.
so anyway, been to the hospital this morning, to the ENT (ear nose and throat) clinic. had a camera put down my nose to look at my throat, tonsils and vocal chords. theyve decided to take out my tonsils and adenoids out, so i'm on the waiting list for that now, which could be up to 6 months. they also want me to go to speech therapy as my vocal chords are all tight and strained too.
still waiting for my wrist operation, no idea how long thats gonna be. they write to you about 11 weeks beforehand and i've heard nothing yet. ah well

went to my sisters in Sheffield this weekend to mind their new puppy Weimaraner Uschi, whilst they went to photograph a wedding. Shes such a lovely puppy, totally bouncy and crazy, or asleep, and nothing inbetween. so i had fun with her on saturday whilst they were out. mooching round on the internet whilst most people were in the swan watching the derby :o(
the journey back on sunday was a nightmare. the train between sheffield and stockport wasnt running so i had to get a bus replacement to stockport, then a train to manchester picadilly, then a train home, taking just over 4 hours instead of the 2 and a half hours it should have.
when i finally arrived in liverpool i met lee and headed over to La Vina on north john street for Kaytes birthday meal. i've never been to a tapas restaurant before, but i really enjoyed it. you order 3 or 4 small dishes and pick from them as and when you want, and then a pudding too :o)
which reminds me, its my birthday on the 6th April :o)

had a cool weekend this weekend. went to lee's on friday night and just chilled. on saturday night me and lee met with tom, gem, nichola, motti and gary, for motti's birthday celebrations. we had a few in the swan and then trundled down to the KH in the snow (JOE LIKES SNOW!!!)
it was quite a busy night and lots of people i knew were out. so i spent lots of time wandering around chatting to lots of people. had a laugh dancing with motti, the guy is a complete loon. have a look at my flickr account for photos>>>>>>>>>>>
completely forgot about the snow when i woke up on sunday, and pooed my pants when i looked out of the window, trying to figure out why it seemed so bright. i didnt venture out yesterday, i fall over with no ice or snow so i'm a hazard to myself and others when there is ice and snow around.
number of actual falls on ice recently - 0
number of near falls on ice recently - 23488793
number of new profanities created - 10000
